Newrest Hellas Employee Honored at Aviation Safety Day 2025

Newrest Hellas proudly announces that one of its employees, Mr. K. Zagkas, was honored with a distinction at the Aviation Safety Awards 2025, during the Aviation Safety Day organized by Athens International Airport.

The award recognizes Mr. Zagkas’ exemplary professionalism, vigilance, and immediate response during a demanding airside safety incident. Amid strong wind conditions, a group of unattended baggage trolleys was displaced from parking stand B40 towards active taxiways, posing a potential operational and safety risk. Demonstrating a high level of situational awareness and responsibility, Mr. Zagkas promptly intervened, securing the area and removing the trolleys from the taxiway, thereby preventing possible disruption to airport operations.
The distinction also highlights Mr. Zagkas’ exemplary and consistently high standard of safety procedure implementation, fully aligned with Newrest Hellas’ internal safety standards. This is further confirmed by the results of internal inspections, in which he achieved a 100% compliance score, reflecting discipline, preparedness, and strict adherence to airside safety requirements.
